During last season, hair-cracks developed around Mekicevica's chain-plates. These could be harmless, superficial cosmetics, or early-warning of catastrophic rig-failure.
The gel-coat was stripped-off and the polyester beefed-up with several layers of epoxy reinforced with six layers of sturdy woven glass.
For good measure, the chainplates were backed by epoxied-wood braces that transfer part of the load to the hull.
Now, let those gales come!
